Nobody teaches you how to study medicine, so I will. Save this video and take notes because I'm about to drop gems. The ultimate formula for success in studying medicine in three simple steps. Step one is to understand the information so that you can explain it to somebody else in your own words. Step two is to test yourself. So even without your notes, being able to recall the information and answer questions. And step three is to memorize the information so you can recall the information that you've studied in your exam weeks. Don't worry, I'm going to walk you through steps one by one. First, open AMBOSS AI mode and use this prompt to teach yourself a brand new condition from scratch. I prefer AMBOSS's AI because it's made by physicians, it's verified, and you can upload any of your notes into AI and teach you the content from the notes. My prompt will teach you the topic step by step, and it will ask you questions as you go along. So by the end of it, you have a real understanding of what you're studying. Step two is to test yourself. And there are two methods I would recommend. Number one is with Anki flashcards, spaced repetition, and active recall. And step two is with question bank practice, which again is active recall and testing yourself just like the exam. Both of those can be done with AMBOSS AI mode. Use this prompt to make an Anki flashcard deck based on the topics you have studied. Even non-USMLE content, AMBOSS will create USMLE high yield content for you, whether it's Anki flashcards or a question bank session. The final part is memorization, and this is all about the review process and consistency with your studying, flashcards, and the question bank. Anki flashcards will automatically show you the incorrect answered flashcards more frequently. But with a question bank, the review process is really important. Whenever I get something wrong in the question bank, I save the piece of information that I missed and I add that to a flashcard deck called mistakes. And I make sure to review my mistakes. As you go through the question bank, you need to review your incorrectly answered questions. All of the mistakes need to be corrected before you go into your exam. If you use this process for your studying, you will understand the content from basic foundations, you will find out what your mistakes are, and you will correct those mistakes so you're less likely to make them in the exam. And if you're consistent, you will memorize the information and collectively, that is what will bring you success in your exam.
