For context when I graduated I moved to Montreal and I lived there for 3 years until I decided to pack my stuff and move back to Lebanon. So many people asked me why I decided to move back. So let me tell you how I decided. Basically in September 2025 so not that long ago I moved back to Lebanon and I had been there for 3 years and I really wasn't happy. The weather's not nice, it's so far, it's expensive, the routine was ugly. I'm used to going out seeing my friends live my life and I wasn't living this life there. I had Tawle in mind I had ideas and to me Lebanon is a blank canvas. We don't have anything here so everything would work but I also told myself that I wasn't going to leave a stable and secure life to come back to a country that could explode any second. Plot twist: it did. So me being me I'm a very firm believer in the universe its energies and divine power. One day I was in Lebanon in July 2025 and I moved September 2025. I was saying "please universe" I remember it so well "universe send me a sign so clear that if I were blind I'd still see it". Fast forward my holiday was over I need to go back. I really didn't want to leave. It felt like a punishment to get on a 74392847h long flight to go back to a country I don't want to be living in working a job I don't like in a city I don't like and honestly I really didn't have to do all that. So guys listen to this. I was taking Air France I hate you. I had a layover in Paris that was fine. Paris to Montreal is a 7h flight. This is where sh*t hits the fan. Mind you you're in the middle of summer so if we were in a normal country it would be hot, sunny, parks... not at all. 7 hours later we're above Montreal they announce that there's a thunderstorm and the airport has flooded so we can't land. We're going to keep flying in circles until we get the confirmation to land. I told myself it's chill I've been doing this trip for 3 years nothing is going to happen max it'll be a 1h thing and it'll be over. The plane spent 2 hours turning in circles and I'm watching the screen irritated af and it's just turning in circles we're not landing and why is there a thunderstorm in July anyway and then they announce that we're landing in Quebec City because we can't keep flying in circles much longer. At that point we've been in the plane for 9 hours. We land in Quebec City It's a city next to Montreal and they park on the runway. I'm not even kidding we were parked for an additional 7 hours. They turned off the plane, one of the bathrooms clogged they turned off all lights, there was no more food no one's giving us updates the universe was really screaming telling me to leave. We didn't even land in Montreal. We kept sitting for a while and at that point I'm so irritated I texted my landlord telling him to break my lease I'm resigning and I'm moving back. But if only it ended there. Eventually we get an update that we can fly back to Montreal. Air France I hate you. We make a turn get on the runway ready to take off people are clapping everyone is so over it at this point and suddenly the plane stops. The pilot announces that the crew's shifts ended so they are legally not allowed to fly. Mind you it's a 1h flight to go back to our original destination and we had been sitting in that leg for about 18h at this point? Sorry we can't fly back you have to go down here. Eventually we got down it obviously Air France was not helpful at all. Air Canada was super expensive because they're the only ones flying out. We had to take a random hotel that was very weird and dystopian and the next day we took a train back to Montreal. On the train I drafted my resignation email. I told my parents I'm moving back. I resigned and as soon as I could leave I left and now here I am. So many people ask me if I regret it if this was a bad choice especially with the w*r and everything happening. My answer is still that this was the best decision I made in my life. Sometimes I see stories from Canada and I miss it but I know I'm just romanticizing it because I'm genuinely living the exact life I want here doing exactly what I want and I came back for the right reasons. So this is a storytime on how I decided to move back to Lebanon how the universe sent me a sign so clear if I were blind I couldn't have missed it and how this was a great choice but anyway I now live in Lebanon and I'm very happy enjoying my business my friends my family and if someone's thinking of moving back definitely do everything always works out life is difficult here but it's also so nice at the same time.
