A friend recently asked me why I have holdings in both, and tbh my response was pretty emotional...
Which was, my S&P was my first investment back when I was 22 years old (now 26), and I'm kinda scared to sell it?!
But he went on to tell me I currently have a lot of overlap by having holdings in both, as the FTSE All-World is 60% made up of the S&P 500 anyway?
Not to mention, you're more globally diversified with the FTSE All-World than the S&P 500, logically making it less risky??
SO should I just sell my S&P 500 and go all in with the FTSE All World or just keep my S&P as is - what do you think?!!

A friend asked me recently why I have holdings in both the S&P 500 and the FTSE All-World, because the All-World is around 60% made up of the S&P, so you basically just have some major overlap!! Completely fair question, but to be honest, my answer was really emotional in the sense that my S&P was my first investment back in 2022, and I just don’t want to sell it!! And I think that’s ok??? I’m going to keep it as it is and instead just invest into my FTSE All-World. I think that’s fair, right?? #investing #isa #PersonalFinance
