My investment portfolio just hit £90,000 and I'm just 25 years old. So I'm going to give you my three step framework in case you want to repeat these exact steps and do exactly what I did. The first thing you need to do is you need to open a Stocks and Shares ISA. The one I'd recommend with the lowest fees would be Trading 212. Best part is, Trading 212 currently have an offer. If you sign up through the link in my bio, not only do you get some free fractional shares, but so do I. This isn't an ad by the way, I just use Trading 212 because it is the cheapest platform and it has so many different funds on there. Step two, you want to invest 25% of your income. Ultimately, if you invest 25% of your income, you're going to get there far faster than if you just invest 5 to 10%. I know it's not possible for everyone, but if you can, if you're living at home, try and invest 25%. I managed to save majority of my investment portfolio when I was living at home, so if you can do the same, that is going to help you massively. Of course, always save whatever you can, but if you are at home, try and save the 25%. Okay, step three, you want to invest in a low cost index fund. This can either be FTSE All-World index or it can be the S&P 500. Those are the two most popular and personally, I invest in both of those. And the final extra step, which I guess is like the 3.5 step, is hold your investments for at least five years. You're not going to see the gains that you want to see if you're taking your money in and out the market constantly. You need to buy and set and forget for at least five years. I've been investing for four and a half years and that's how long it's taken me to get to the £90,000, so the longer you invest, the more it's going to compound and the more money you're going to have in the long run. I hope this helps.
