Have you ever wanted to go on record that you don't know? I consider you a professional. You don't know. Kwani what do you do? Who even called you for an interview? Why are you here? I'm like, well. In my head of course I'm like, damn it. I've been an entrepreneur for 15 years and 13 of those I have been in property management slash creative. So I run two agencies currently. I have I run a property management company and I also run a creative agency. But the creative side is more of a consultancy. That's where you see me posting about decks, fundraising, grants, etc. We do that as a consultancy because we've been through it. Because even at a property management side, like we've done a lot of that. I have worked throughout the entirety of my career. I've worked with different sectors and industries but contractually. But that means is I'm refilled. Sijai apply job. Sijai apply job. Ati niende nifanye interview ndio nipite for a specific role. I tried it once after campus, but I took a story of entrepreneurship and I've been reading that. So, but I've done a lot of fundraising so I do know what I'm talking about. Anyway, that's neither here nor there. It's not a structure. So again, nimekuwa nime-refillwa. And so when I'm called in for interviews, it's more of I get to know you. They've already gone through my portfolio, my CV, my resume. They've been told about me by the person who has referred me. So it's more of a formality, kwizi interviews. And sometimes it's more of introducing me to the other people. Sawa. So this happened. I was referred to a particular job in a well-known industry or company in Kenya. I'm not going to say the name. So mimi nilikuwa najua kawaida. I go for, you know, routine interview questions. You've already been told about me. So this is routine. Sindio? Si ati nimekuwa nime-apply job fulani. Nafaa ku-tick boxes fulani niko nazo kwa job description, etc. Anyway. So in my head I knew that is what's going to happen because it's what's been happening. And of course when you're going to for interviews you have to research a bit about the company and the industry, right? So I am I interviewed. I don't know I don't know if I should be talking about this because it's still fresh. Like it's still fresh. So anyway, nilienda nikafanya research a few things online about their company. So nilienda nika-introduce, nikafika, nikajifanya kama pemba because they called me and told me to be there like two hours earlier, which was a very big inconvenience for me, but I was like, yeah, whatever. Made it. Nikafika. First of all, nilipata wako si wengi. Like there are a lot of people who are being interviewed for a lot of roles. That clicked in my head immediately. Like this is not a new company. It's a company that's been existing for years. So if you guys are massively recruiting for different roles, you know my chances are like wow, the company. I digress. That was my first red flag. But I'm like, hey, nime-referrals, eti nili-apply, but wacha tuone. So, nikaingia. Routine questions. What is your name? Tell us about yourself. Tell us about your education. Tell us about what you do. So, unajibu. Sindio? So, unajibu maswali unajibu confidently. Na nini, this background, I do this and but every time I'm trying to complete a sentence, I'm cut short. Sawa. Sasa, hii interview iko na panel. Most interviews, zinafanya panel, especially if it's a big role. Na mimi nime-involve quite some. If you're contracted with big. So, it was more of, wewe ulikuwa the seven. So, there's like the CEO, who I don't think is the CEO because I didn't see him kwa website, but he had a boss, like he said. And on this side, kuna wasawa tatu, and this side, kuna wasawa tatu. So, it was seven. Sawa. But sasa mimi nimekaa directly opposite the bossy. Kila time nikijaribu kusema something because nilikuwa naona the guy on this side, tell us about yourself, and business. So, nikijibu confidently, of course. But, mimi nimekaa short. I'm cut short. So, my grid, as you have seen outside, there are a lot of people who are being interviewed. Make sure you answer as short as possible for us to be able to be done quickly. And I'm like, yeah, I understand short. Majority of what you need to know is on my resume and my portfolio. So, what do you really need to know? Sindio? Again, routine, sindio? Nimekuwa na routine. Uh, kila time nikijaribu kusema swali. So, they started asking me, ama the bossy now, join the issue, but I'm in my head. Anyway. The bossy now, akataka kuniuliza nothing related to what I do, what I've done. My CV, my portfolio, like nothing. Something completely different about them that has been in the media space. Mimi sijakuwa nikiwa na use me. Story zao za kasomo, ziko na pressure, na ma-breaking news, mimi sijakuwa nikiwa na use me. Sijui, that's a, I acknowledge that could be bad on my part, right? So, sikuwa najua. So, he was asking me about those situations that's me. So, do you not know?
