Something I wish someone explained to me earlier, a savings account and a brokerage account are not the same thing. Here's how I think about it. A savings account is where you keep money liquid while typically earning a small amount of interest. Think emergency fund. A brokerage account is slightly less liquid than a savings account, but where you can actually invest in the market on your own terms. Two totally different tools for two different purposes. And the barrier to entry is way lower than I thought.
