6 side hustles I've tried and what I'd rate them. Starting off with modelling. Obviously not everyone can do this. I was super fortunate to be able to do this. My day rate was around 700 pounds and at most I got paid 2,000 pounds for a day. I would get booked maybe a couple of times a year. So very dry, very unpredictable. 6/10. Number 2 is reselling. I would go to charity shops and look on eBay to find undervalued items to sell them for a higher price. Now, I talked about this briefly in a YouTube video and I got a ton of hate for it. It's an opinion that divides a nation. However, after volunteering in that charity shop and having a general interest in fashion and entrepreneurship, I did not see an issue with it because people generally in the UK treat charity shops as dumping grounds for unwanted things and if things don't sell they get sent to another country or could end up in landfill. So it's not like I'm patting myself on the back and saying I'm such a good person, but I'm also saying that I'm not a terrible person for doing this because charity shops are available for anyone who wants to support that charity and find cheaper clothing. One time I found a coach bag for 8 pounds and I resold it for 80 pounds. This was a very enjoyable side hustle because I got super into learning about vintage clothing. However, it wasn't very lucrative or high leverage because I was taking a lot of time to source the items. That's a part that people don't want to understand is the profit also includes the time you spent. It's a nice side hustle if you're just getting into side hustles, but I wouldn't say it's very lucrative in the long term unless you find wholesale suppliers. 5/10. Number 3, dropshipping. I have no words here. I tried it once and it was a complete flop. Obviously I did not do it properly and I didn't do my research and I also didn't invest any money into it. But this was during the dropshipping hype, but I'm almost glad this didn't go well because I don't think it's very ethical. 0/10. Number 4, UGC. Surprisingly, I tried this way before I even started making content. I was approached by someone on Instagram, probably just because I made sort of modelling content, but I was sent some vitamins which I made a video for. I got paid 50 quid for it, which looking back now is definitely being underpaid, but I didn't know. I would say UGC in general is a good side hustle to get into. I know some amazing creators making a lot from UGC. 4/10. Next is bank switching. I love this side hustle. This is so easy to do. You're basically getting paid for doing something that you might have done anyway by just moving banks. And often banks will give you 100, 200 pounds. 8/10. And finally, my favorite side hustle ever, which is content creation. I would argue that this is one of the hardest ones to do simply because it takes a very long time to see results. I luckily did monetize within maybe 3 or 5 months or I would only make a couple of hundred pounds, but still that's something. But it really requires a lot of upfront graft of posting multiple times a day for months. And I honestly did not see content as a side hustle, I saw it as a hobby. So those are some side hustles I've tried. I'd honestly say that content is probably the easiest to get into for most people because all it requires is you and a phone. It's also very high leverage because you're able to reach people at mass scale. And it's part of one of the reasons why I'm on track to get financial freedom. But this goes to show that I tried many different things before I was successful with content creation and I built a lot of skills in these different areas that I now bring to my business today.
