RATING MY SIDE HUSTLES + how much I've made from each

working multiple jobs at once is hard but so is living paycheck to paycheck. so I'm going to rate all the side gigs I've had over the years and tell you whether or not I think they were worth my time. when I was in college I tore my ACL and I was also trying to pay my way through college. so me and one of my best friends started a spoon ring business. and when we would set up a booth on campus and sell spoon rings. business having a business where you're selling an actual product is hard. you have to consistently front your people. your profit margins are small. we would sell spoon rings for like $25 each. I think I've earned anywhere between 5 to $10 per spoon to make into a ring. it was good money for a college student. I did that side gig for about a year and a half to two years and I think I probably made 5 to 6 grand. college, after college I was in a lot of credit card debt and me and my husband were trying to save up to buy our house. next side gig we did was dog sitting and house sitting. honestly, we would just dog sit and house sit for people that we knew and it was really good money. however, it's inconsistent, and you're relying on people to go out of town and to need you. so in terms of convenience is a very easy side gig, but again, very inconsistent. this next one is crazy, but the next side gig me and my husband took on was a cleaning business. it started out as us cleaning houses on the weekends and Airbnb's eventually, we hired 1099 workers to go do the cleans for us and then we would pay them an hourly rate. whatever the difference was between the hourly rate and what we could charge for the clean is what we made. for a full year of doing that, we profited probably close to 50 grand. but the thing with that sacrifice. always on Sundays. enjoy at customer service and you have to always answer your phone when it rings. very random side gig I've had is property managing. managing a rental property for a friend who just didn't have the bandwidth to manage it. I got paid $150 a month. per door. at one time I was only managing two properties for like 300 bucks a month and it was very low lift. however, anything that goes wrong with the property or tenants falls on your shoulders. and if you have good tenants and a reliable house then it's not a lot of work. I definitely have some horror stories from that side gig and it's not something I would do again. the next to last side gig is selling digital products. so this one is so profitable but that definitely hinges on whether or not you have a platform to get your product in front of the right people. which nowadays not social media is not very hard but market. definitely working brands. been my most profitable side gig. I will for two years without any money. it takes a lot of work on the front end, but once you have a platform on social media, the amount of money you can make from brands is pretty much limitless. far, close to 300 grand from working with brands and promoting brands on my social media platform. but that took so much work for two years really without really seeing much payoff. you can somehow figure out how to build a platform which I did, wasted four years realizing what worked. faster than I can figure out how to create an audience that brands want to get in front of, you can start making money from that a lot faster than I did. think that about sums up all the side gigs I've had since I've become an adult. let me know if you have any questions. ya.
