10 DORM ESSENTIALS YOU NEED TO PACK FOR COLLEGE

Here are things that nobody tells you to pack, essential additions. 1. mini fridge Number one, you're gonna need a mini fridge. You're gonna want to put snacks and cold beverages in your fridge because even if you have a dining hall, you might not have time to grab anything. But if you have like a Red Bull in the fridge, you can just grab that and go to class. Also, when the dining hall is not open. Even if you have a roommate and you guys are planning on sharing a fridge, get your own fridge. I made that mistake. That's a story for another day. Just trust me, bring your own fridge. 2. a rolling cart Number two is a rolling cart. It's like these little shelf carts. They're perfect for storage. I put a lot of stuff in. I remember putting my snacks right at the top and some of my toiletries and stuff at the bottom, like my hair dryer and stuff. It was just perfect and I could roll it around the room. They're normally small. Mine was pink. Definitely need one. 3. a mattress topper Number three, a mattress topper. God knows what was on those mattresses they give you in the dorms and they are not comfortable. The ones they gave me were like a gel foam. There was a period of time when I couldn't have my mattress, I had to sleep on like the pure gel foam mattress and it hurt my back so bad. You need a mattress topper. I swear. I've had my mattress topper since I was a freshman and it's still in great condition. 4. a good fan Number four, you need a fan. I had a woozy fan. I got it at Costco. I know they're not sold right now if you're in Canada. Listen, everybody hyped up this fan and I was like, yeah, right. I just want me to buy an expensive ass fan. No, that thing circulates really well. I'm someone who gets extremely hot at night. When I was on Saturn, I literally wake up and put my face in the fan. But if I turn my fan on, it was fine. And the air actually made it bearable to sleep. It also comes with a little remote so you don't have to get up. I don't know, it's perfect. I love it. And it's really tiny. So that's the one I would 100% recommend. 5. shower caddy and shower shoes Number five, a shower caddy and shower shoes. I lived in two residences and one of them was like communal bathrooms. You know, shower shoes, shower shoes. I was appalled when I saw those floors. Like shower shoes. I also need like a shower caddy to bring all your stuff. You don't want to be carrying everything in your hands. If you feel like me and you use a lot of products, you want a shower caddy that you can hold. You can get them on Amazon. I have all this stuff linked in my storefront. By the way. 6. bluetooth speaker Number six, bring your speaker. My little baby JBL that I take everywhere. This was enough for me. But you're gonna want a speaker for when you're preing or getting ready. Just for the shower. I don't know, my speaker was always on and being able to play that music or if you're crashing in your dorm or people to hear you like speaker. So yeah, don't forget to pack that. 7. wallflower's Number seven, Wallflower's. Little plug-in things that you can put into the wall that will make your room smell nice. If you're someone like me who enjoys candles, you can't have them in the dorms or you're gonna cop a fine. So I found an alternative. You just plug those in and it still made my room smell nice. You can get the same sense of body and body works that you would get from a candle. 8. command strips Number eight, Command strips. Everything in my room right now was held up by Command strips. You got to remove them the right way. I definitely left a hole or two in the wall. But it's a really good alternative to hanging stuff up. They're pretty strong. Maybe nothing metal. My posters like sometimes fall on my face. But for the most part, stuff they held up really well. So yes, get your Command strips and the hooks too. 9. big ikea moving bags Number nine, you need IKEA bags. Oh my god, those things are the best for taking all your clothes and all your stuff to res. Don't be moving boxes. I literally stuffed a bunch of IKEA bags in the car and it was fine. They're also really good to like carry on if you everyone has like sleepovers and stuff. 10. long chargers and extension cords And lastly, you're gonna want long charging cords and extension cords. This is crucial because sometimes there's like two outlets in your dorm and you're gonna have to plug everything in those outlets. In the most awkward spots possible. If you have a long extension cord or even one of those long ass like cords for your phone, that'll be a lot better. That's all for me today.
