I think that the more you deepen your sense of self, the more you attract deeply insecure people in your orbit. And I don't know if there's a way around it, but I'm going to share how I'm able to distinguish between somebody who is authentic and secure from somebody who is kind and insecure. And I say kind and insecure because I do think in the beginning, these two types of people appear the same. But the insecure person's kindness comes from a place of manipulation and dishonesty. It's not kindness for the sake of being kind. It's kindness for the sake of forging intimacy and getting closer to the person that they've already pedestalized and decided will solve their insecurities. But in reality, if you try to resolve your own internal battles through an external force, like a human who really believes in themselves, you're destined for failure. Destined. But I want to say that the more you get to know yourself, you are going to attract peers that are incredibly, that are so talented, that amplify you, that inspire you, that do the same for them. But the people that are insecure, they're going to try to speed up intimacy at a rate you do not feel comfortable with. And it becomes the same shit each time where the person tries to get to know you, and when they've already pedestalized you, they deepen intimacy at a very fast rate. You pull back because you don't feel comfortable. They begin to resent you, and then they try to spin a narrative to other people because they believe they've got a sense of social capital by getting close to you, but you guys were never close. But then you also don't give a fuck because the people I fuck with know me. So if other people believe this narrative that I wasn't even a part of, that I don't even know about, then why am I going to care? You're playing checkers. I'm not even playing chess.
