What the most painful or embarrassing moment? I had to come in and ask my wife to help me be a waitress. The reason why Nasi Lemak shop is because of one reason. I was bored, but hear me, let me tell you why. Back in 2020, I sold my brand called Ali Muthu & Ah Hock. Fortunately, I managed to sell it, thought I could retire and I stopped working for three years. I was bored, bored as hell. Everyday yum cha, it was killing me. Long story short, how Nasi Lemak shop came about. One of the days I was out camping with my buddy and this guy threw me the question that created Nasi Lemak shop. He asked me, "Hey Colin, how is it like a F&B business can make money?" So my response to him was, "If you can spend 12 hours a day wrap, 24 hours a day, uh, I think you can make some money." So from that one conversation, boom, we are now nine outlets strong. So why Nasi Lemak? I was wanted to do a banana leaf joint cause I love it. But then I think of myself, try not to reinvent the wheel at this age. I do what I'm good at. I've done Nasi Lemak for many years. So this is what I know, I understand very well. I chose Nasi Lemak. So fast forward, nine outlets. It didn't come easy in the early days. It was tough. What the most painful or embarrassing moments is when I had to ask my wife, come in and help me be a waitress. This is what we have today. After all these struggles, sleepless nights, we have now nine outlets and counting. It was tough.
