i'm wayyy over budget here's a recap of where my money has gone (so far) in 2026! january: no buy (success!) for me a no buy = no clothes and no unnecessary beauty I start every year with a No Buy to help reset my money post-holiday! I did have to book some (wedding) travel, which brought what would have been a low-spend month up to a much higher spend </3 chicago 3° Feels Like: -17° H:19° L:1° i don't miss this ONE BIT BTW! february: spent 2 weeks in la this is also when I decided I was moving back! I spent a week in manhattan beach, and then a few days up in santa barbara. I also signed a lease 2 days after I got there lol this is when I know 2026 was going to start getting $$$$$$ so I starting planning for it in my PFD! not my problem march: moved out of my apt in chicago I spent most of march tying up loose ends, securing my sublet, and making sure that I was prepared for my move! this month I also bought my wedding guest dress which was pretty expensive but I've gotten a lot of use out of it already so it's ok!! april: moved (back) to la <3 the most expensive month of my life, between my roadtrip out, moving, buying new furniture, and getting settled into a new space. NO REGRETS!! best month ever. this is when my money started to feel like monopoly money lol may: went to RI for wedding #1 the dress is from Reformation! the start of wedding season; I had 3 weddings every other weekend on the east coast starting in may! first trip was out to newport, rhode island and I tagged on a few days at home too! june: lots of weddings & travel had my next wedding in wilmington, nc and then my third back home on cape cod!! I am done for a while <3 obviously traveling and attending weddings is VERY EXPENSIVE. I also did a little shopping this month at the Aritzia clientele sale! & now my goal is to recalibrate my budget it's been a very expensive year!! but knowing WHERE my money is going makes me feel more in control.
