Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
In May, we spent over $1,000 on restaurants and bars, and almost $1,000 on groceries, so, in June, my goal was to spend less on both of those. Well, I just finished my end-of-month check-in, so I figured, what better time to update with all of you. First off, with groceries, better. Honestly, really didn't put that much effort in and was able to come in lower. Honestly, I hosted in May before we left Columbus and that just adds up. But overall I'm happy with where we landed, which was around $788. Restaurants and bars, we did do better than May, but we did not quite hit our goal, and I know exactly why. It is because of the $280 birthday dinner I already talked about this month. Like I mentioned before, I immediately regretted it. Let's move on. Everything else we spent there was intentional, whether it was a new spot we wanted to try, a night we didn't feel like cleaning and cooking, cooking and cleaning, and then also going out with friends. That's how we like to live and I'm not cutting that. July will be interesting. We're still in a new city, we like to explore the food scene, it's summer, so spending's always up, so I'm trying to be realistic, especially with my friend coming to visit, as well as my parents. I like to be realistic with my expectations. None of this was a surprise because I check in weekly. I use the app Monarch to stay on top of our money on a weekly basis, and then, of course, at the end of the month as well. Let me know in the comments if you want a full spend breakdown for us for June, or what else would be helpful to hear.
