These are the cities where Americans earn the most money. Seven of the nation's top 10 cities by household income are located in the West, with California accounting for three. In San Jose, CA, the median income is over $175,000. As you move down the list, there are a number of cities where people make good money, some of which you wouldn't expect or overlooked. Places like Baltimore, Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Columbus, Ohio. But to do want to point out though, that the median household income in America is about $85,000. And you can see that there are a number of cities below that amount. Places like Orlando, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and Cleveland. Whereas back at the top, these are all very expensive cities to live in. So where these people down here make less overall, they might have a higher quality of life just because their dollar goes a bit further than other people's.
