Family Income to Live Comfortably

You better be making some serious money if you want to live comfortably in the US. In the top five most expensive cities, you need to be clearly making over $350,000 a year to live comfortably. Some of these cities make sense. San Francisco, San Jose, Arlington, Washington, Seattle, Irvine, Honolulu, Portland, San Diego, Denver, Jersey City, Minneapolis, Anchorage, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Newark, St. Paul, Riverside, Colorado Springs, Tacoma, Madison, Philadelphia, Reno, Boise, Raleigh, Buffalo, Indianapolis, Phoenix. You're probably noticing that most of these most expensive cities are all on the West Coast. So if you're in Seattle, Irvine, Honolulu, Portland, San Diego, Denver, I'm sorry for you. But it's also a little crazy to me is you need to be making well over $250,000 to live comfortably in a city like Minneapolis or St. Paul. Madison, Wisconsin is sitting here at $263,000, which is kind of confusing when you see that in Chicago, you need to be doing around $240,000 a year. I didn't expect that. But we do need to talk about the most affordable places to live. And you'll notice that they have something in common. They are all in the South. And this is where places in Texas and Florida really stand out. Because Texas is home to a lot of affordable cities. I'm talking Houston, Dallas, Austin, Plano, Fort Worth, and Florida is right there with Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville. So if you live in one of these expensive cities, would you consider moving to one of the more affordable ones down here?
