Hook

Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
This is Justine's Camera Roll. She's a great creator who is making stuff here on short form and on YouTube. This video in particular, I spent $4,000 on a 24-hour flight and instantly regretted it, is her highest viewed video to date. Let's watch the hook and see what she's doing right. You may be wondering, what on earth is going to spend $4,000 on a one-way plane ticket? This one. Right off the bat, we're hit with a few things that work really well in my opinion. First is repeating the title as the first line. What dummy would spend $4,000? She frames it in a way that really shows off her specific tone, which is humorous. She's a really funny creator and most of her videos have an element of humor because that's a big part of her personality. Justine has established her brand so well across short form and now here on long form as someone who's a really strong editor, and she doesn't save these really strong edits for the middle of the video. She starts off immediately with a really strong edit and it showcases how her style is as a creator. So a lesson you can take away from Justine is one, when you can, repeat the title in the beginning of your video to re-establish the idea. Two, have a sense of tone. Know what your tone is and really lean into it. And three, whatever your style is, make it known up front so that people can really feel the personality behind the person.
