my money mindset as a financially literate girl in her 20s i've noticed in my life that the way i view money is vastly different than a lot of my peers. and as someone who is 28 years old and has saved multiple six figures, i think that it is the mindset that i have that has led me to do this. i'm very thoughtful in what i spend my money on. i can never get myself to spend $200 on a new pair of shoes or a pair of jeans because i think that i could take that $200 and invest it in the stock market. it would be an added value to my life for the rest of my life. and something that really helps me is breaking down my salary into hourly pay. i know how much my annual salary breaks down into hourly pay post tax to hourly. and i use that calculation when buying things. you just go to chat gbt and you tell them what your annual salary is, asking them to break it down into an hourly salary post tax. for example, if you're making 70k a year, if you break that down into hourly post tax, it's about $27 an hour. so that $200 pair of jeans is going to take you 8 hours of working to purchase those. it's usually my second line of defense, but the hourly rate was something that helped me when i was struggling with really, should i purchase this? i would love to be your big sister in finance and helping you guys also grow your savings and your investing because it is so important to switch your mindset. rest me. it feels really nice to know that my portfolio is working for me. and that money is there for me for my future versus just in a purse. and also your first 100k, maybe your first 200k. if you put trust in it. trust and believe.
