If you are apartment hunting on the west side of LA, do not be fooled. The biggest lie leasing agents and landlords like to tell is that you quote don't need AC on the west side because it's cooler, which is true. It is like 10 degrees cooler on the west side because you're closer to the ocean, but you absolutely do need air conditioning. Not the majority of the year, but like there's a heat wave right now. I am getting by with my ceiling fans in my bedrooms and I have this like monster of a portable AC unit. It's literally like a Wall-E robot that's actually saving my life right now. Otherwise, I think my apartment would be 90 degrees and I've lived here for six years and every year there's some sort of heat wave situation. So in the year 2026, I absolutely believe that air conditioning is necessary. Global warming is real. It's hot in this bitch. I literally feel like my landlord is just like living in a mansion with central air conditioning and just doesn't remember what it's like so she's like, oh my gosh, you don't need AC, like it's no big deal. Never going to need it. We never use ours. It's just like windows and ocean breeze. That's not true. It's so hot. You need air conditioning and don't be like me. Get an apartment with air conditioning.
