So I got off the train yesterday afternoon at King's Cross and Pancras and I thought, do you know what? I'm gonna get a black cab. My hotel was only 2.2 km away. Yes, I could have walked it, but I had a case, my laptop, my handbag, and I had to be somewhere, I had to be in the strand at four. So I was like, okay, I'm gonna get a black cab. And I did, jumped in a black cab. Told him the address, gave him the full post code, and the name of the hotel where I was staying at. and he tried to drop me off at Chapel Market in Iceland. which is not where I'm staying. Luckily I know London well enough that I was like mate, this is this is not okay. And he was like, where did you want to go? I said, I told him the name of my hotel. It's similar sounding name, but it's not. It's market road, that's where I need to be. And it's an N7, essentially. And so he continue to He's like, I can't find it on my, I can't find it on my and I'm like, are you being for real right now? You're a black car driver you're supposed to have the knowledge. What the is this? And he was like, well, they've changed all the roads, they've changed all the one way systems. I'm like, still, it's your job to be up today and to know where we're going. We went into, we went into. We went into. I've lived in London, I know these places. These are my old. I was furious. So I got my own Google maps up and I was like, look, I can find the name of the hotel. It's here. This is where I'm going. Why can't you find it? The post code doesn't come up on my set now. I'm like, doesn't matter. You try to drop me off at the wrong place and here we are. What's going on? Anyway, he goes, I'll take 20% off your fair. I'm like, will you? 20%. It took me 40 minutes to get to my hotel which was 2.2 km away from King's Cross. It's absolutely lived. And at the end of it, like he wasn't even talking to me. He was like, well, well, you didn't tell me. I was like, I very clearly told you the name of the hotel, the post code, the address, the name of the road, and you didn't get me there. I did take a photograph of his license plate because I was going to report him for not knowing what a black cab should have known. actually said, you know what, your fair is free, I'm sorry, and I was like, okay, but 40 minutes to go 2.2 km. I absolutely could have walked up myself in 20. Anyway, that was yesterday.
