The Hamptons are not boring, it was never supposed to be exciting. And that's the point that all of this discourse has missed. People who are making these videos don't understand what the core of the Hamptons are. Over the last 20 years of my life going to South Hampton every summer, husband has spent the entirety of his life and his grandparents had a house there for 50 plus years. Hamptons are not for partying. Hamptons are not for round swamp. Hamptons aren't really even for eating out. They're for house parties. For farm stands, for beaches, for relaxing, for doing nature activities. The place where the wealthiest escape the grind of New York City to disconnect and relax. So if you're somebody who wants to go to the Hamptons because you saw your favorite TikTok influencer do it, you're going to probably have a miserable experience. Everybody on social media is doing the same thing that you are. They're all going to the same places. They're going to round swamp to spend $30 on a can of chicken salad. They're going to Duryea's, to stand in line to see Johnson, some DJ, $1000 a night for a shitty beach shack. Get on the LIRR, pack like sardines and head back to the city. Guys, would be if you want to visit the Hamptons because the beaches are gorgeous, the nature is bountiful, sure you are not planning on going out, sitting in traffic for an hour to go to the hottest market. There are plenty of other farms to support. Go for a hike in the nature preserve, rent a kayak and paddle in the bay, climb the dune, fuck the chicken fingers, fuck the scene and enjoy nature.
