If you wanna build a magnetic following, a personal brand that pays you to be you, just by living your life, and one that actually makes you money and not just brings you attention. You need to be aware of this one mindset shift that will change everything for you. And if you can stick to the end of this video, you'll have a massive internal advantage over everybody else that's trying to build a personal brand right now. So about two years ago, I started working as a content marketer for dozens of persons, brands, right? Guys and girls, making anywhere from 10 to 800,000 a month, just from posting content. And one of the major things that separates a successful personal brand/content creator from those that are unsuccessful is this one concept. That is that the top creators are not building personal brands, but they are designing a life that's worth watching. If you're watching this video, you already know that to be successful online, you have to be authentic, right? But no one ever tells you how exactly do you do that, right? Well, there's two steps to doing that, right? And step number one is you need to stop studying the algorithm. I want you to think about when you first downloaded TikTok, whether that was last month, whether that was a couple years ago, whatever it is, right? And think about what your algorithm looked like at that time versus what it looks like now. But chances are, people are on there doing TikTok dances and going viral for doing stupid shit. And now you're watching this video. So you're probably on the side of like, personal branding, maybe some self-improvement stuff, maybe some fitness stuff, scrolling this algorithm in order to find what's going viral and recreating it for yourself. That will never build you the magnetic following that you're looking for. And that's because you're outsourcing your internal conviction to something that literally changes every single day. So instead, you need to start copying loops rather than copying ideas. Now how do you do that? Or what does that mean? The best creators know that you don't need to steal an idea from another winning creator, but instead, you need to study how that creator was able to keep attention throughout their entire video. Because all that matters on this app is that people watch your entire video. And then the algorithm labels it as okay, this video is something that keeps people on our platform. So let's push it out even more. So when you find a video that's maybe five, six minutes long, and you watch the entire thing, ask yourself why you sat there and watched a six-minute video when you're supposed to be on a short-form platform. If you're watching this video, then layer two, step number two is going to be a lot more game-changing for you. See, I just did it right there. Dropping that sentence was just me trying to keep your attention for this next part of the video. But step number two to being authentic and building that magnetic following is that you need to make your content a portal for other people to transport into. Now what exactly does this mean? This is where you actually have to design a life that is worth watching. Chances are, you've seen the girl on TikTok that is growing from California to Hawaii, and she just blew up overnight, it seems, right? So many people are interested in her journey. Now think about it. Everyone that's watching her content is watching it from the comfort of their own bed or from the comfort of their own home, or whatever it is she posted a piece of content that transports you into a world of extreme adventure and maybe a little bit of anxiety, but you find it entertaining to watch someone else doing it. It's also the same reason why travel creators win a lot on YouTube and on short-form content because even though you're not traveling the world, you might feel like you are simply by watching their videos. How does that mean that you have to roll from California or travel the whole world to have people watch your videos? No, not exactly. But so many people right now want to become content creators, want to live the creator lifestyle, have to get paid to be them. They just go to work and then hang out in their room and then go to sleep. You need to build your activities and your hobbies and your experiences, because aura literally just comes from your hobbies and your experiences, right? So one of the major ways to build that aura and that portal is that you need to stop posting every single day. And I know that sounds crazy because every guru online is gonna tell you that you need to be consistent in order to grow online, and that's very much true. But there's a version of posting everyday that trains you to value volume over depth, and it trains you to create from a place of obligation rather than authenticity. You see, the best video you'll ever make won't come from a content calendar deadline, but instead, it come from a moment of curiosity into a topic and clarity, right? These naturally occur in your everyday life, but you have to let them happen. Example of this is one of my most viral videos on here is an idea that I got from a book. Reading is a hobby that'll help you design the life worth watching. Journaling, running, getting into fitness, becoming obsessed with some random topic like philosophy, or whatever it is. So yeah, sure you can travel the world or you can roll from California to Hawaii. But you don't necessarily need to. You just need to start living your life as if people are watching. And get out of your everyday routine, do new things, try new things, experience new things that you can tie into your content and deliver on this platform in a way that's entertaining or educating for the viewer. The most important part of this is that before you build your content strategy and your content calendar, you need to build your internal self concept. A strategy that works with all of my clients is that you need to start posting with intention and not frequency. What I've learned over the last two years is that your content will always be a reflection of how you see yourself. You see yourself as someone trying to figure it out or someone trying to be a creator, always carry that uncertainty. If you see yourself as an authority of someone building a world and inviting people in, your content will naturally carry that weight. The strategy will always be secondary, but the self concept is the foundation that everything else gets built on. Ask yourself where you've been spending your creative energy. You've been doom scrolling and copying other people's ideas, or have you actually been out there living life, acquiring new hobbies, new experiences? Like I said in my last video, experiences will always be unique to you. But emotions are the universal language of the world. We all feel the same emotions. So if you can go out there and acquire experiences and take the time to live life, and then connect them to universal human emotions, then you will build the magnetic world. And following that, you're looking for, you will be paid to be you. And you will design a life that's worth watching, rather than building a personal brand.
