Three ways jobs are changing right now

We're automating the making faster than we're keeping the fixing — and the gap will be the most expensive skill of the 2030s. Jobs are changing in three ways the data won't show until it's obvious: many-to-few/one work, where agents produce and one person approves everything; self-serve, where people stop paying professionals and do it themselves; and the one-person company — one human plus agents doing what used to take a firm. All three remove the layer that catches mistakes. The result is much more output and much less checking — while AI errors look fluent and finished, not wrong. Fixing is a different skill from making. It needs causal understanding, not pattern matching. And the way people learn it — doing the work, getting it wrong, being corrected by someone experienced — is exactly what these changes cut out.
