There's a saying in swimming. You're either a swimmer or a breaststroker. 👉 And it starts with your feet. 🔵 Look down at your feet right now. If they naturally point outward when you stand, you have the mobility to develop a strong breaststroke kick. If they point straight forward, it will take more work. 🔴 But no matter where you start, the technique has to be right. And here's what most people get wrong. 1️⃣ Kick direction. Your kick has to go straight back. Not out to the sides. ✅ Your goal is to move forward. So every bit of power has to be directed straight behind you. 2️⃣ How close you bring your feet. 🔵 Bringing your heels all the way to your glutes feels powerful. But it creates a huge amount of resistance. ✅ Bring your feet fast and close to your hips. Not your glutes. Fast recovery, low resistance. 3️⃣ The kick itself. 👉 It has to be quick and powerful. One explosive motion. Then immediately bring your legs together and glide. ✅ Fast recovery. Powerful kick. Legs together. Glide. 🔴 That glide is where most people rush. Don't. That's where your speed lives. 🎯 And if you want a full deep dive into every part of breaststroke technique, we have a complete video breakdown inside the Swim Success Training app covering every detail of the kick, the pull, the timing, and everything in between.
