OPUS 5 IS HERE MAKES FABLE 5 OVERPRICED

Anthropic just dropped Opus 5. Which makes Fable 5 look extremely overpriced. Opus 5 is a cheaper model. Fable 5 is a more expensive model. And today the cheap model just caught up with the reasoning of the expensive model. All right, let's talk about it. First thing to know. Opus 5 costs the same amount as Opus 4.8, the previous version. And that was launched two months ago. And honestly, people thought it was really stupid. And a lot of people jumped to chat GPT. Today it's the same price. And it went from Opus 4.8 barely passing reasoning models to Opus 5 running circles around it. 20 times sharper for the same amount of money. Second thing to know. So Fable 5 has been said to be one of the smartest models on Earth today. And it costs double. And Opus 5 just matched it on coding for half the price. Then on real computer tasks, it beat it. At a third of the cost. Same reasoning, half the bill. The co-founder of Cursor said himself: Near flagship intelligence at the price of a cheap tier. So I asked the question, what was all this talk about data and not having the capability of running Fable 5? Why did Anthropic do this whole runaround over the last couple of weeks? It's in your account. It's not in your account. Wait, it's back in your account. Is Anthropic doing this just to stay in the news? Are they trying to win this AI war with ChatGPT just by getting negative press and then positive press and round and circles we go? Because this feels like a toxic relationship with. So it just dropped an hour ago. We don't know what the physics are going to be like yet in what the capabilities are. But so far, the benchmarks, which are from Anthropic, by the way, are showing incredible results. But let's wait a couple of days to see third-party testing to see what those benchmarks look like. Opus 5 is better at coding in terminal. It's better at knowledge work. It's better at agentic search. It's better at multidisciplinary reasoning. Better at computer use. Better at agentic coding. Better at business workflows. Not as good at legal and health. But better in biology. What is Anthropic doing? And do you think that these benchmarks are accurate?
