AI WASHING EXPLAINED

4,000 people lost their job last month and the stock shoots up 24% and the CEO is called the visionary. This is the scam that is hiding inside the AI revolution and no one is talking about it. So, let's talk about it. In February this year, Jack Dorey, the founder of Twitter and Square sent a letter to the block shareholders. He was announcing that he was cutting 40% of the workforce, 4,000 people from Block. Gone, but here's how he spent it. He didn't say we're struggling. He didn't say we overheated. He said and Let me quote this directly. Intelligent tools paired with smaller and flatter teams are enabling a way of working which fundamentally change what that means to build and run a company. That was from CNN. AI did it. AI is the future. We're ahead of the curve. The crowd goes wild. Stock prices surge. But let's take a look at the actual numbers because often receipts tell a different story. In 2019, each block employee generated 670 $8,000 in revenue per employee. That being gross profit. By 2022, that decreased to $482,000 per employee, gross profit. The company wasn't growing smarter, it was growing bloated. And here's the kicker, Dr. admitted it himself. He wrote on X and let me read it. We overhired during COVID because I incorrectly built two separate company structures rather than one, which we corrected mid 2024. That's quoted. So, which is It's it, Jack? Did AI make these jobs obsolete or did you over hire and you're correcting the problem now? Because you can't have it both ways and it gets worse. In a leak memo in March of 2025, just 11 months before the AI announcement, Dorsey was explicit. And again, let me read. None of the above points are trying to hit a specific financial target replacing folks with AI or changing our headcount cap. 11 months later, story totally flipped. And block isn't the only one to doing this. There's actually a name for this and it's called AI washing. CEO of OpenAI Sam Alman says and I'll read it, almost every company does layoffs, they're blaming on AI, whether or not it really is about AI. So here's what's happening right now. Workers are losing their jobs and overall losing and stakeholders are winning. So if a company is claiming that they're laying people off because of AI look at their numbers from 2020 to 2022.
