Watched Voicemails for Isabelle and had to make this of course 🤍 Recipe below! Ingredients: - 5 tbsp butter - 1/2 onion - 2 sticks celery - 1 large russet potato - 4-5 cloves minced garlic - 5 tbsp flour - 3 cups chicken broth - 1 cup heavy cream - 1/2 cup milk - 2-3 shredded chicken breasts or a rotisserie - Frozen veggie blend (peas, corn, green beans) - Frozen lima beans - 1 box jiffy cornbread mix - 1 cup cheddar cheese - 1 jalapeño, sliced thinly - Salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, paprika Instructions: - Melt butter in a large dutch oven or pot - Add in onion, celery, and potato and let them soften - Add in garlic until fragrant - Add in seasonings - Add in flour slowly until it’s fully incorporated - Slowly add in chicken broth, heavy cream, and milk, mixing between each - Season again - Bring to a simmer - Let it simmer for 20ish mins - In a separate bowl, make cornbread mix according to package instructions. Add 1 cup of cheddar cheese to the cornbread mix - Add in chicken and frozen veggies the pot pie mix - Taste here to adjust seasonings (I love a lot of pepper in this) - Spread the pot pie mixture evenly in a pie dish - Pour over the cornbread mixture and top with jalapeños - Put it in the oven at 400 for around 35 minutes. Test to make sure the cornbread is fully done. Then allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting into it (this gives everything time to set!) - Top cornbread with honey, flakey salt, and fresh cracked pepper and enjoy! #jalapenocheddarcornbread #chickenpotpie #voicemailsforisabelle #Recipe #comfortfood
