Nobody gets fired on day 2 for fun. Companies hire people hoping it will work. But it also is very clear when a lack of accountability is going to be a problem at work and we have to stop just saying it’s not that serious. I’m sorry this person got fired, but despite them saying they didn’t realize the time policy was so rigid, I don’t think it’s a matter of 5 minutes that got them fired. And that is why job interviews ask the stuff they ask about. You have to take accountability and own mistakes at work and people who say I’m not making excuses while making excuses are very often not going to break that pattern. #careers #careeradvice #professionalism #recruiting
