Occasionally your board will come to the conclusion that you're an entrepreneur. You don't know what you're doing in terms of running a company. And so you need an operating executive to take over or somebody to be involved. My board did this to me. Uh, they basically said in the last company, there was some executive chairman that they were going to put in as one of the board members. And this person was awful. Like, bottom of the barrel awful. Nobody in the company liked them. Nobody in the company wanted them. They knew them as board members. And yet the board makes this decision because they think they know better. When you hear the term operating executive, you should panic. In fact, somebody who's an operating executive and comes and works at a startup should not want to be known as that. They should be like, no, no, I can't hear because I love what you're doing. I want to work in the trenches with you. I know what it's like. If they're leaning on that previous experience, and they're going to just impute that on you. It is one of the most bad things that I've seen in startups when they get surrounded by so-called operating executives.
