Hook
Beware hiring investment banking or consulting people who spent more than 2 years in it. And the reason I'm giving you this advice is because if you have a hot startup, a fast growing startup you've raised money, people from that world are going to be attracted to what you're doing and you'll get job applicants with these amazing resumes like from Goldman Sachs, from this private equity firm, from Deloitte, from McKinsey, whatever. And if it's less than two years, you're okay. They're not ruined yet. They're probably like, okay, I need to get out. I see something great. And they're probably high achieving, so there's still a lot of potential. But if for some reason they've been there three, four, five years or they went back after grad school, that means they're ruined, okay? They're probably like looking for a certain type of lifestyle, they're running around with certain types of people that is not your world as an entrepreneur. It's not an in the trenches, like fight for everything. That is not how they roll. In the future, they can be qualified for a few positions, but not very many. Not even CFO. I found banking, like long-term banking backgrounds, like IR positions, things like that. Consulting, you're kind of ruined completely.
