Hello from day two from my solo trip that my husband planned for me. He is on a solo trip as well in Montenegro, in Medera, on a trip that I planned for him. Let's see what I've got going on today on my itinerary. Today I'm driving to Albania. It's a hefty little road trip ahead of me, four and a half hours to Theth, Albania, which should be awesome. This morning I was supposed to go paragliding in Montenegro here, but the conditions aren't good and I can't wait for them to clear up in the afternoon because I gotta go on this road trip. So no paragliding for me, but I'll be alright. Um, anyway, when I get to Theth, apparently the town is really cute. There's a waterfall I could walk to, or there's a really popular swimming hole with like crystal clear blue water, which is awesome. Let's see what Albania's got going on. ROAD TRIP TO ALBANIA. crossing the border. REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA. WELCOME TO ALBANIA. Montenegrin & Albanian border patrol officers were screaming at each other. so many animals on the side of the road. driving to the swimming hole! 10/10 swimming hole. dinner. I'm not gonna lie, the drive was a little bit too long. Mostly towards the last hour and a half, it was just a little too crazy. Super windy roads. Everything is one way, which he wouldn't have known that. Right, he wouldn't have known that. I was about to subtract a point for the drive being so long, but then I pulled up to the hotel and it's dope. Um, I have this beautiful little like multi-story, they call it a chalet. I guess you could call it a chalet. But look at the view. You just have like the beautiful Albanian Alps right outside. I'm just stoked. I have a little bit of work I need to do. So I'm gonna sit down and do that. And then I'm gonna go to the swimming hole before dinner, which is thankfully up at the hotel. So I don't have to go find my own dinner situation tonight. But so far, Albania, besides the roads, so good. driving to the swimming hole! 10/10 swimming hole. dinner. I just finished dinner and it was great. And now I'm going to pack up my running vest for tomorrow because I have a loop run that I'm doing, one way out to a hotel, staying the night, just whatever I'm carrying on my back. And then the next morning, running back to my car where I'd leave it tomorrow morning. It's like a 17 mile trail run, but I have all day to do it and there's like 6500 feet of elevation, so pretty hefty climb. But should be great. And I'm just excited. It's way better than the 70 mile run that I sent Rion. So, I'm very excited. But here's the view for tonight. It's amazing. It feels like a mix of Yosemite and the Dolomites, if I had to say based off of just today. So, that's about it. bye!
