Would you send this robot into a wildfire before risking a human life? U.S. robotics company Satyress is developing Threehalves, a centaur-style machine that combines a humanoid upper body with a four-legged mobility platform. The design is built for dangerous environments where conventional humanoids may struggle, including wildfires, collapsed buildings, toxic sites and confined industrial spaces. Four legs give it greater stability across rubble and uneven ground, while its arms allow it to carry and operate tools such as chainsaws. Threehalves is not being built to replace ordinary workers. Its purpose is to enter the jobs where one mistake could cost someone their limbs or their life. It may look unsettling, but this could be one of the most practical directions for humanoid robotics. #usa #robot #robots #robotics #artificialintelligence
