Prices start at 119,800 yuan and go all the way up to 990,000 yuan for the top version. But the bigger story is demand. UBTECH says orders had already passed 13,000 units around launch, although these appear to be presale orders rather than delivered robots. The U1 is built around companionship, with bionic skin, simulated warmth, facial expressions, voice interaction, eye contact, touch response, and long term memory. It still cannot properly cook, clean, or handle full household chores, which makes this even more interesting. This is not a robot maid yet.
