If you're planning a trip to Japan, here are 5 of the best Hilton properties in Japan — as someone who goes every year. TOKYO Conrad Tokyo Top nine floors of the Shiodome Media Tower, over Hamarikyu Gardens and Tokyo Bay. Kazahana, China Blue and the TwentyEight lounge handle the food. Shiodome station is directly below, Ginza a short walk. TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO, an SLH Hotel Sixteen suites. A ryokan hidden inside Tokyo — tatami, shoji screens, hinoki tubs, 210 cherry trees. Four restaurants — tea ceremony, teppanyaki, French — plus a guests-only lounge. Omotenashi is the whole point. In front of Shinagawa Station. One note on Tokyo: the Waldorf Astoria Tokyo Nihonbashi is scheduled to open fall 2027, connected to Nihombashi Station. That becomes my clear choice in Tokyo the day it opens. KYOTO ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts My favorite Hilton in Japan. In the Takagamine foothills on the Shozan Resort grounds, with an outdoor thermal pool fed by hot spring water from the property. Tenjin for dining, a spa doing stone massage with river stones, and service most city hotels can't touch. Onsen Garden Rooms come with a private onsen and garden. Kinkaku-ji is a 15-minute walk. OSAKA Conrad Osaka Floors 33 to 40 of Festival Tower West in Nakanoshima, with 380-plus works of art and a 40th-floor lobby wrapped in glass. Five restaurants up top — teppanyaki, nigiri, seafood bar. The hospitality is what people remember. Higobashi station is underneath. Waldorf Astoria Osaka The brand's Japan debut, open since April 2025. 252 rooms in Umekita with Peacock Alley and True Waldorf Service, designed by André Fu — also behind HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, my favorite hotel in Japan. Not a Hilton, but an exceptional stay. Next to Osaka Station — Kyoto, Kobe and Nara each under an hour. All five book on points, and against Japan's cash rates they're strong redemptions. Hilton prices dynamically — check a few different weeks. Drop any questions in the comments and I'll answer them.
