Overemploying is the act of secretly having multiple full time remote jobs just to make more money. And there are people making $800,000 a year from doing this. So this is the overemployed movement and the subreddit has 300,000 visitors per week. It started blowing up in 2026 because people wanted a hedge against economic uncertainty. And this single guy made $820,000 a year by having multiple full time jobs at a single desk. After he initially got laid off from his first tech job, he started putting as many applications to remote jobs as possible. He landed his first job at IBM, but while working there, he realized something. None of these jobs actually check if you're employed with someone else right now. So you can just apply and potentially work at other jobs as well. He got an offer from Meta and then just decided to work both of those jobs at the same time. This accounts for Job One and Job Two. Then he applied to Tinder and actually got accepted. Job 3. But it got even crazier because he used his Tinder offer to negotiate a higher salary at IBM and Meta. He would say, don't raise my salary, I'm just gonna go work at Tinder. So they raised his salary and then he just worked at Tinder anyways, and he ended up making $820,000 in a single year by working all three of these remote jobs. The crazy part is, this is not illegal. There's nothing the federal government can do. The only thing that can happen is if your employer finds out, you.
