This guy built a video game that was so realistic that it ended up solving a real world traffic problem. This game is called City Skylines and you basically get to build and run your own city from scratch. This means that you get to set up your own buildings, roads, townhouses, pretty much everything. And people started to really enjoy this game, so they started modding it and to optimize every single feature. To make the best city possible, you would try to optimize things like restaurants, commute times, and traffic. In the modded versions of these games, people would even start making YouTube tutorials on how to have smooth traffic flowing through the city that you built. This guy Alexander, one of the most modders in the game, at traffic control that when Sweden wanted to build in 2016, they actually just used his game and used his method. This is what the city looks like and to measure traffic in advance. They literally went into the video game and built a replica of the city to see what traffic control would actually look like and tweaked it before they built. This is all thanks to Alexander that he did to make cities that looked this realistic that they could actually test when real world.
