How can it take 60 years to see justice served? The only way a known offender can remain as remorseless as Alan Jones is by having a network of people who condone the manipulation and abuse of young men, whilst demonising openly gay people and consensual gay relationships. No one is as homophobic as the members of the Liberal Party, and yet they accept and assist the s*xual violation of boys and young men. Alan Jones was a known predator, who was allowed to do what he wanted to whomever he wanted for more than five decades – as a teacher, as a coach, as a media personality, throughout every job he held, at every residence he lived in. There were so many people who knew and so many people who helped the abuse go on for as long as it did. On Monday, Alan Jones will finally stand trial. He will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court for what is scheduled to be day one of a trial expected to last for months.
