You want to know the weirdest feeling in the world? Getting laid off. Never in a million years did I think that would happen to me. But this week my company had layoffs and my position was affected. It took a day to feel sad about it, feel weird about it, but ultimately, I just keep reminding myself that a job is just a job. I'm going to be okay. I'm going to find another one. And the hardest part is just saying goodbye to my team and my colleagues. Thankfully, it wasn't an automatic shutdown. I was able to finish out the week to do transition and handovers and say my goodbyes. But it is just a weird feeling. I've been working in marketing roles for the past five years, and my last two roles were specifically in hospitality, which I have really come to love. So who knows what the future holds? But thanks for spending the morning with me.
