💪 Yakima's Next Fitness Destination Is Becoming Reality! What started as one local resident's idea is now becoming a reality for the entire community. Adam Tobia, a personal trainer here in Yakima, envisioned a place where people of all ages could come together, train, and improve themselves through calisthenics. After bringing the idea to the City of Yakima, the project gained support — and with funding from Forbes Mercy, Adam's vision is now moving forward. A new calisthenics park is being built at Chesterley Park on 40th Avenue, between the YMCA and the skate park, creating a new outdoor space for the Yakima community to exercise, connect, and stay active. I spoke with Adam about what calisthenics is, how this project started, and what this new park means for Yakima. Opening Day Announcement 🎉 The new calisthenics park will officially open on: 📅 Sunday, August 16th, 2026 ⏰ 9 AM - 1 PM This free community event is open to all ages and will include: 🏋️ The chance to try out the new equipment 🤝 Meeting fellow members of the calisthenics community 🥗 Local healthy vendors 🎉 A celebration of a new fitness space for Yakima Volunteers Needed! 💪 Before opening day, volunteers are needed to help finish bringing the park to life. 📅 August 11th & 12th ⏰ 7 AM - 12 PM Volunteers will help move, assemble, and place equipment into concrete.
