I was notified by someone who saw it lying on the ground today (Aug. 5, 2026). It's currently unclear when the damage occurred or who is responsible. This comes after videos have circulated online showing people in other parts of the country cutting down automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras. Flock Safety is one of the leading manufacturers of AI-powered license plate reader systems used by law enforcement. Other major companies in the ALPR space include Axon, Motorola Solutions, Vigilant Solutions (now part of Motorola Solutions), Genetec, and Rekor Systems.
