I am 28 years old, I own a health and wellness brand called The Cold Life, and I'm currently standing on my balcony here in Brickell soaking up my last night. Officially being a Brickell resident and man do I gotta tell you, first things first. The sunsets that we get, which we just missed unfortunately, are always phenomenal. And I gotta say, Brickell as a whole has been a great home for the last 2 years. But I wanted to come on here and share to you guys that are possibly considering moving to Miami or considering moving to Brickell, a few things I love about Brickell that's possibly not talked about, and a few things I do not personally like about Brickell as well. So first things first, is Brickell safe? Well, being someone that moved here from Atlanta, Brickell is definitely safe. Doesn't matter what day of the week or what time it is. It could be 5:00 AM on a Sunday morning. I will walk anywhere in Brickell with no concealed carry, any watch on, any outfit, it doesn't matter. Brickell is definitely a safe place to live. Now, walkability? I don't think there's anywhere better to live that's more walkable than Brickell, which is the reason why I never decided to move to Midtown or Edgewater. Yes, it's somewhat walkable if you live there, but compared to Brickell, you can go to a fire restaurant. Several different fire restaurants within a few blocks. Plenty of fun. Places to go out, any grocery store, barber shop. Literally anything you need, you can find it right here in Brickell. So most weekends I prefer to not drive if I don't have to. Besides going to the gym, which I prefer. Which unfortunately isn't in Brickell. Which I will say the one downside of Brickell. Unless you're a big Equinox guy, there's no good gyms in Brickell. But besides that you will rarely have to drive anywhere. So if you work from home and you come here without a car, Brickell's a great spot in my opinion. Also location wise, I'm on the south side of Brickell. I think it's the best part of Brickell to live in. I can get on the highway and literally 5 minutes tops. It's close to the Grove, I'm still close to Design District and Edgewater, and I'm about 20 25 minutes from South Beach. So personally I think this is the best location as well. Now what? All of you guys are probably waiting for the things I don't like about Brickell, so let's get into it. I personally have a love hate relationship with Brickell City Centre. And the reason why is because that place and Moxies and that whole strip right before the Brickell City Centre drags in all the douchebags and the tourists. Which I don't mind the tourists, but I do mind the douchebag. So what I'm getting at is prepare yourself. Especially Thursday through Sunday, anytime after 11 PM until maybe 3 or 4 in the morning, all of the douchebags that rent those nice exotic cars will be showing off the exhaust on the rental cars at every single red light in the intersection all night long. It is horrendous. The other main thing I do not like about Brickell is it lacks a lot of nature. We're right on the water. Yes, you got a view of the water, but it is so hard to find grass. So if you're someone that likes to ground in the morning or you wanna be around some grass or you got a dog, Brickell is not it. Trust me. Now, the last thing I'm gonna say, which I have a love hate relationship with this one, is Brickell drags in a lot of streamers and TikTokers, as someone likes to go on a walk at night to calm down my brain, to get some steps in. I love the people watch, I can sometimes be entertained by it, but it does get kind of annoying, like being everywhere with their cameras and their lights and all that stuff. And don't support how those streamers make so much damn money for these stupidest shit ever. But that's the last thing I'll say.
