after weeks of testing we found the best way to store cucumbers. We stored one cucumber in the fridge inside a plastic bag with a spoon to help regulate its temperature. We stored one cucumber in the crisper drawer of the fridge inside a plastic bag and wrapped in a paper towel to help absorb moisture. Then we tested a cucumber out on the counter and one simply placed in the fridge. After two weeks of waiting, the results were in: The cucumber stored with a spoon did reasonably well, but we did note some excess moisture leading to some decomposition. The cucumber stored freely in the fridge was definitely wrinkly and lost a lot of its firmness. I'll let the cucumber on the counter speak for itself.
