Sergio! Why does mold keep coming back in my shower... even after I clean it! how do you normally clean it? I spray bleach! scrub with a sponge... and rinse it off. Well... THAT is one of the: BIGGEST mistakes people make when cleaning mold! and exactly WHY... it keeps coming back! Bleach can make the mold stains look brighter... but on porous grout & caulk... it doesn't always reach the root of the mold! It's the reason why... after you clean your shower, it looks clean for a while... but mold comes right back! so what should I do instead? COME! I'll show you... add 2 cups of warm water... 1 tbsp. of dish soap, 1/4 of a cup of hydrogen peroxide... and 2 tbsp. of baking soda... into a spray bottle! The hydrogen peroxide helps treat the mold stains... the dish soap cuts through soap scum and body oils! and the baking soda loosens tough grime! and then what...? spray it on your moldy grout, caulk, tile & shower corners... and let it sit 10 - 15 minutes! THEN! Scrub with a medium bristle brush... a sponge mostly cleans the surface... but a brush reaches deeper into grout lines, corners & small cracks! making sure the root of the mold gets removed! oh WOW! and is that enough to stop mold from growing? for the most part... BUT you cannot ignore moisture... if your bathroom stays humid... mold will continue growing! for example... a dusty clogged bathroom fan cannot remove humidity! clean the cover and carefully vacuum the dust inside every few months! and leave your fan running... for at least 20 minutes after every shower! and please... if you have a window, OPEN IT!
