When someone says 'you just have to be patient' during a house purchase

If you’re buying a house in the UK, you will hear “you just have to be patient” approximately 47,000 times before somebody finally hands you the keys. 😂🏡 And yes… we KNOW. We know the house buying process takes time. We know property searches can take weeks. We know solicitors have to raise enquiries. We know the seller’s solicitor has to respond. We know the mortgage lender has their own process. We know everyone in the property chain has to be ready before exchange and completion can happen. But knowing all of that doesn’t make the waiting any easier when you’ve had an offer accepted and you’re refreshing your emails wondering whether today might FINALLY be the day something moves. 😭 There’s such a strange emotional side to buying a house that nobody really prepares you for. One minute you’re excited about your new home, the next you’re convinced something has gone wrong because you haven’t had an update for three days.
