what to do as a college freshman who is commuting to school and wants to make friends what to do if you're a college freshman who wants friends but you're commuting to school hi, my name is abbie i'm an uprising sophomore, and i'm commuting to college this year. okay, quick psa i'm a sophomore; but this is how i would treat it surprisingly, being a commuter versus being on campus really isn't that different. the only difference is that you sleep there versus you don't. the best way to make friends is on that very first day of school. it's probably your first time taking college classes and it's also probably everybody else's. so use this to your advantage. everyone is also looking for friends, trust me, everybody's looking for friends. everybody wants a buddy. so on your first you just talk to them. "what's your major?" "do you think this class also sucks?" "hey, is this also gonna be miserable for you, too?" and then, "hey, can i get your snapchat for homework then, it's it's gonna did you see that new restaurant open? hey, did you see that new clothing store opened? let's go get it together. and then are you wanna come with?" that's what it's gonna turn into. even if you're introverted, you're gonna find other introverts. it's gonna end up being, "hey, or "hey, do you wanna just come over and like chill it. it's really not. it's really not as big and scary as you think it is. i want i want you to have that same interaction for every single class that you take. and then literally, by the end of the week or within the next two weeks, you're gonna have friends and and i'm assuming you're not that far so invite them over so invite them over to your house or invite it'll be fun. it'll be fun. another big way to meet people is that when clubs come about. sign up for clubs, be friends with your clubs your clubs in college are nothing like i was i can tell you up front right now the clubs in college are student who are looking to have a good time. so they're gonna wanna be friends with you also, your college probably has sports. go to sporting events. alright, take like literally one of the people you wanna go to the soccer game yeah, you do. probably nothing. so go to that be what major are you? what major are you? and they might be the same major. even even if they're not the same major, do hang out with them. i mentioned in my other video that i because a because a bunch of them came into our dorm kind asking for a dorm and i end up being and i end up being friends with those people for the rest of the year. just cause you're a commuter doesn't mean that you can't go do go hang out with your friends at the dorm. go chill go chill at the dorms. go chill around campus. there's gonna be people, and a lot of people will approach you that you never thought would. and i played division 3 so i was friends with and we were also friends with people who didn't play sports. so honestly, college intermingled group of people who are just trying to make it through college and feel okay. like, everybody okay, i hope okay, i hope i covered everything and give you enough tips to like make friends and be okay. but if i didn't, dm me or comment on this video and i'll respond as best as i can, okay. wishing you luck. bye.
