Here's how you're gonna make friends as a first year. No. 1, just to everyone. Just literally talk to everyone. Go up to people first, introduce yourself. Even if you're shy, people will, like, conversations, you're gonna know that you're a pretty shy person. And that's not a bad thing, but if you're sitting there closed off while you're trying to make friends, you're missing out the first week or like the first month, everybody makes a bunch of friends. It is really the easiest way to make connections. So yeah, that first week, that first month, you better be speaking, you better be speaking to people. If you're in the dining hall with someone, you see someone eating alone, be like, hey, can I eat with you? You look like you need a friend. Someone did that to me once and I will always remember it. You see someone with a t-shirt of a show you like, be like, yo, I fuck with that show. Like literally anything you could say to start a conversation and trust me, you will make friends. No. 2, join clubs or intramural sports because this is the best way you can make friends. I did flag football last year with some people and I really enjoyed it. And there's so many different teams, you can just talk to the other teams and everything. Clubs are also friends. I personally didn't join any clubs like the BSA, but still, it's a great opportunity to make friends. I know I went to like the ASA gala, club and I met so many friends at that event. So yeah, go to events, get into clubs, get involved in stuff in the school and you will make friends. And No. 3, this might be the most important one, but don't only make friends in college. Make friends outside of your college. If you go to Western, make fanshawe kids. Keep up with your friends from your hometown. Even go back to your hometown and make new friends in your hometown. Last year I made a TikTok saying like, hey Toronto girls, if you guys want to make friends, everyone's fake here, let me know. And I started a group chat and I met some of my good friends in there. So yeah, don't close off your circle. Never be like, oh yeah, I have too many friends. No, you can always make a new friend and you can always find a new connection. That's all for me today. Let me know if you're an introvert or an extrovert. To you guys, and I'll talk to you guys in the next one.
