I think we're all too scared to go outside but here are some of the events that might get me to do it. And two of them you get to bring your dog too. Tonight is Tail Wagon Tuesdays for the Nashville Sounds. So if you've always wanted to bring your pup to a baseball game, tonight's the night. $2 nachos, $2 hot dogs, and $5 extra dollars to bring your dog. It benefits local nonprofits. This week's is Proverbs 12:10. And in September, it'll be a new leash on life. Tomorrow is the floating meditation at R+R Wellness. The floating meditation at R+R Wellness will take place on select dates. R+R Wellness is located at the Hyatt Nashville. Guests experience deep relaxation and mindfulness while floating on a rooftop pool. This unique meditation encourages relief, mental clarity, and a sense of calm. Attendees should dress to treat yourself. It's $139 if you also want to do a day pass to the spa, good from 8 AM to 8 PM. That's worth it if you also want to lay out on the pool that day. And if you want to add a massage or facial, the full day pass meditation and facial experience is only $200. What if many free concerts. We've got the Neuhoff River Steps Concert Series. This is super cool. I still haven't been but I'm going to go to this one. It's free to attend. It starts at 6 PM and it's got drink and food stations and it's got really good music. Neuhoff also has a vibe. It's in an industrial rehabbed warehouse. It's very cool. Dog Nights of Summer. Every Thursday in August is one of the only nights that you can bring your dog to Cheekwood, the beautiful gardens of Cheekwood. They're going to have live music, tons of vendors, and it was super fun. I've been to this before, it was super fun. Again, the only time that your dog is allowed on site. Bring a chair, bring a blanket, expect to get some food truck type food, bring drinks, explore. It's a fun, good weeknight out. The Wilson County Fair / Tennessee State Fair. The Wilson County Fair / Tennessee State Fair is in Lebanon from Saturday, August 13th to the 22nd at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center. Rides, contests, fair food, vendors, and fun for the whole family. You must purchase admission tickets plus separate tickets for rides and games. Tickets are only $14, which I found very fair for a big event. Carnival games, rides, and it's really fun for the first day. Movie Night at the Speedway. Movie Night at the Speedway will take place on Friday, August 14th, 2026, beginning at 5:00 PM at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. They're going to be showing Cars. This is very family-friendly. They're going to have bounce houses, free popcorn, food trucks, track chalk drawing, speedway photo opportunities, and tons of stuff. Again, it's going to be super fun. It's going to be completely free. Watermelon Fest. It's Watermelon Fest over at the Nashville Farmers' Market. This family-friendly event will feature live music, 21+ watermelon drinks, a kids' zone, a puppy adoption truck, cooking demonstrations, yard games, crafts, and again, admission is free. And this is a great time, especially with all the viruses and salmonella and all the things, to get local produce.
