college things nobody tells you but I'm gonna tell you cause I don't like gatekeeping. My name is Abby and I'm a rising sophomore, Penn State Berks and I'm gonna tell you everything you need to know about college. Your college professors will not remind you when every single assignment is due. They give you the assignment due dates in that syllabus on their first day class and that's your schedule. Your schedule might look easy but this actually gonna leave you exhausted because you didn't look to see how much work you had to do outside of class. Yeah, the friends you make first semester may not be the ones you're friends with second semester. A lot can happen between semester one, semester two. And if you wanna keep your remember that it's not like high school where you guys see each other every day. You're gonna have to actively make plans because you're not gonna end up seeing each other everyday. If you think that you are going to struggle in a class, email your professor before you start failing. They are way more willing to help you before your failing than versus after your failing. A lot of professors are behind on grading. So when you get a bad grade, it's gonna make your grades look shit. But I promise they're not gonna look like that by the end of the semester. You usually can't turn in late work. It's usually not a thing. This isn't high school anymore. They usually don't accept late work, so get your assignments in on time. Even if you think I promise you don't, you will end up spending money on little things and it will add up quick. Your college definitely has more free resources than you realize, like free tutoring, free mental health services, free career advising, things like that. Your college usually provides a list online of things that they suggest that you have for your dorm. Half of it you don't actually need. And I have a video up on so go watch that. For courtesy of your roommate, you need to discuss everything that you do, whether that's the time that you're leaving, what food in the fridge is yours or what can be shared, what items in the dorm can be shared. Literally everything. And that is so that there's not no one cares if you eat lunch alone, okay? You're gonna go to the dining hall and think because I promise you that college students are so much more focused on themselves, they probably don't even know that you're sitting there. You can change your college major literally every single day if you wanted. Do not sign yourself away to something at 18 that you're not sure that you wanna keep doing by the time that you're 40. Take my advice. I wanted to be an astronaut, and then it changed into marine biologist, and then it changed into which is now physical therapist, that's what I'm going to school for. So keep your options open guys. You do not need to go to every single campus event. But also, flip. Do not spend your whole entire college experience inside of your your first semester of college is not going to feel like a movie. I promise. But that does not mean that you're doing college wrong. Also promise that some of your college classes will be extremely boring, even if they're for your major. That does not mean you need to switch majors. That just means that class is boring. I'm a physical therapy major and I had to take trig. Trigonometry? Like a math class. I have no idea why I had to take that, but I took it anyway cause it was a major requirement. That was super boring and I almost and lastly, you were yes, graduating yes, graduating college matters, yes, graduating but you will get extremely burnout if all you do is school. So go outside, touch grass, meet some friends. And if you made you might as well follow me. My followers have already deemed me as their college and I'm and as always, my my DMs and comments wishing you guys best of luck.
