Hook
In the workplace, stop oversharing. Stop giving away information, telling your managers about your partner, your kids, your dog, what you do at the weekend, accepting friend requests on social media. Do you not realize most people suffer with mental health issues, bullying, all these problems, the politics, the gossip, the drama. It is because they've given away information freely. People do not keep their cards close to their chest. Therefore, this information eventually gets used against you. You cannot walk into this, well, I and my coworkers spend more time with than I do with my family. Yeah, that's not normal, remember. It is not normal. You've been put into a situational environment because you need to pay bills on any regular day by your choosing. You wouldn't select these people. You don't need to go on the work parties, you don't need to go on the work do's. Have a bit of self-mastery. Work problems come from oversharing. What people don't know, they can't destroy. If you have decided to have a day off because you've accepted them on social media by your manager, then they can't see what you're doing on your days off. Even if you go down to the beach and chill out and you want to decompress, but if you've accepted them on social media, they can pick it up. They can stalk you. Come on, wake up. And to the people at the back of the room who say, well, Aaron, you know, if I don't overshare and I don't give away the information, they'll all pick on me. Grow a pair. Get a backbone. Come on, wake up. Stop giving in and becoming an NPC, a non-playable character in the 9 to 5. Have a backbone, people. Come on. Problems stem from oversharing. It is that simple. It is black and white as can be. When you give away information, it will be used against you eventually. And you can never trust coworkers. You are in a financial competitive environment where everyone is looking after themselves. So to the people at the back of the room who say, well, I have a workplace bestie. Good luck with that. Remember, problems stem from oversharing. It is that simple. Remember, look after yourself. Keep your lips sealed. And if you do, the less problems you will have. Be polite. Go in, say good morning, good evening, whatever. But you don't need to tell them everything about your life. Wake up people. And to the people at the back of the room who say, well, I have a workplace bestie. Good luck with that.
