Why it worked

The video likely resonated due to its relatable narrative about business dealings and the unexpected generosity of legal services, combined with a commentary on perceived fairness in the business world, which can spark discussion and engagement.

Summary

The creator shares an anecdote about a potential company sale where the lawyers offered their services pro bono, stating "on the house" and to "just remember us next time there's a deal." This highlights a perceived disparity where those who might deserve such favors often don't receive them, while others seem to get free services regularly.

Stuff is free at the top. You actually be shocked about how at the very top, shit's just free. I have been running my company for many, many years. At one point we were seriously considering selling it to a larger company. They made a serious offer. So I went and found a law firm based on a recommendation with this deal. What the fuck do I know about selling a company, right? So I'm working with these lawyers and they're putting, they're looking for, it looks good. Twos now, the deal falls through. So I go to the lawyers, I don't know, like, I'm sorry. Like, how much do I owe you guys? And they're like, don't worry about it. Just remember us next time there's a deal. I said, sorry. They were like, on the house. But like, yeah, next time there's a deal, just I'm not in the habit of selling companies everyday, so they probably will never get back. Don't get back. But now I realized that the very people who at least deserve are often getting free shit all the time.
