I do not recommend a bath as part of of your baby's bedtime routine. I really do not recommend putting part of your baby's bedtime routine. There are a few reasons why. Let me explain. If you're new here, I'm Hannah. I'm a gentle sleep consultant. I help families get sleep with serious sleep training. No cry it out, no Ferber method, no extinction method. If someone tells you need to your baby to sleep, true. I've never used it and to 1,000 families. In my previous two posts, my bedtime routines, tempered sun and my more spicy temperament with foamo baby sun. And for neither of their routines, bath because the bath can just be way too stimulating for little ones. There are little ones that love it. Have a bath, your bedtime routine, then don't change anything. If you're finding that it's hard to fit it in, is find having a really hard time whenever they get out of the bath or they seem over stimulated or you're rushing through it, to scrap it and have it earlier in your daytime routine part of your bedtime routine. Your bedtime routine should be 20 to 30 minutes of time in your little one sleep space, bath. And then in there and it's, yeah, get a little bit too complicated for some little ones. The bath can also warm little bit and their bodies cool down before the end of the day, night. Nice slightly warm bath can help with this, heat up the skin and that can help. But if the bath is too warm, it can make them a bit uncomfortable. And then you know what it feels like to to sleep too warm. So if you're bath close to bed, sure it's a nice cool bath. Lots of little ones really love the bath. And ending the bath can be a really hard transition. So that can actually make little ones become a bit dysregulated. Avoid any kind of dysregulation or up regulation right before bed. The purpose of the bedtime routine is to find their calm before bed. So if the bath is activating that part of them, it. If your already quite tired, then putting them in quite a stimulating situation. Bright lights, noises, lots of toys, you right next them getting night and feeling cold getting dressed. That can also add to all of that. So you want to find an activity that is calming to them and see if the fun activating activity to earlier in the day. So if the bath works for you, baby. Don't worry, keep it. It's fine. But if you're finding that it's many thing, bit too complicated, and you're maybe this diss regulation then scrap it. And then figure out what bedtime for your little one. I have shown you what my voice bedtime routines are. Talk a little bit more tomorrow about other things bedtime routine.
